Standing water is the most common reason gardens around here don’t get used. Heavy clay in Doncaster and Rotherham holds surface water long after rain’s stopped, and the low-lying ground around Goole sits close to the water table for large parts of the year. Before any patio, lawn or planting scheme goes in, we check where the water’s actually going, not just where the client assumes it should.
We install soakaways, French drains and land drainage systems sized to the garden and the soil type, and can tie new drainage into an existing surface water system where one exists. On sites where the water table is genuinely too high for a standard soakaway, we design around it with raised beds and permeable surfaces instead of installing something that won’t work.
Groundworks usually run 2 to 5 days depending on the scale of the problem. From £650 for a single soakaway installation, from £1,200 for a full land drain system across an average rear garden. Free site visit to assess drainage before we quote anything.
